StreetQuizine chefs prepare fresh food in a food truck for an event

When looking to hire food truck catering, you should consider more than just the menu. Equally important are the potential serving speed, included services, venue requirements, and a transparent process.

At StreetQuizine, you can book food truck catering for groups of 30 or more. You aren't just getting a food truck; you are getting a fully planned catering service complete with chefs, serving staff, an all-you-can-eat main course option, and a dedicated point of contact. Upon request, we can also handle beverages, furniture, pavilions, and other aspects of your event.

What is included when you book food truck catering?

At StreetQuizine, we don't just rent out an empty vehicle. You are booking a complete catering service that is planned to suit your event and executed by our team.

Depending on the package, food truck catering includes:

  • a fully equipped food truck
  • trained chefs and serving staff in the truck
  • tailored menus and dietary options
  • preparation, setup, and teardown
  • an agreed-upon serving time
  • dishes, cutlery, napkins, and appropriate sauces
  • Custom-printed menus
  • Cleaning of the food truck
  • Disposal of waste generated by our catering
  • a dedicated contact person for the entire planning process

This makes the concept ideal for company parties, summer festivals, Christmas parties, weddings, birthdays, trade fairs, roadshows, anniversaries, and large-scale events.

What information is needed for a quote?

The more precise the key details of your event are, the better we can plan the food truck, menu, and staffing.

For an initial quote, we typically need:

  1. event date
  2. exact address or zip code
  3. Expected number of guests
  4. desired start time for food service
  5. planned service duration
  6. preferred catering concept
  7. known dietary requirements and allergies
  8. Desired additional services

If some details are not yet finalized, that is no problem. We can discuss various options and adjust the quote accordingly. You will typically receive a response or a personalized quote within 24 hours on business days.

How are meals and food trucks planned?

The number of food trucks required depends on more than just the total number of guests. The most important factors are the timeframe in which guests need to be served and the types of dishes being offered.

Depending on the menu, a single food truck can serve up to approximately 250 portions per hour. With highly efficient catering concepts and large-scale events, this capacity can be even higher. Planning for guests arriving all at once is different from planning for a summer party where service is spread out over several hours.

For burgers and bowls, a second food truck may be advisable for groups of around 200 guests or more. For more elaborate BBQ or French dishes, this may be necessary for groups of around 150 people. For very large events, we combine our seven food trucks with additional service stations as needed.

Our goal is not to deploy as many vehicles as possible, but to determine the right number to ensure fast service and a cost-effective workflow.

What food can be offered?

Our menu includes, among other things:

  • Premium burgers
  • Asian and Mexican bowls
  • BBQ dishes
  • Pita
  • Pasta
  • Currywurst
  • French-inspired dishes
  • Finger food and desserts

Vegetarian and vegan dishes can be included from the start. Gluten-free options are also available at no extra charge. We use halal chicken for selected burger and bowl varieties.

Our main courses are generally offered as an all-you-can-eat service during the agreed serving time, meaning your guests can eat as much as they like. Finger food and desserts, however, are calculated based on a pre-agreed quantity that we have found to be sufficient.

The food is freshly prepared on-site by trained chefs. Our team includes several chefs with experience in Michelin-starred restaurants.

What services are already included in the quote?

Our standard serving time is 2.5 hours. The food truck usually arrives about 60 to 90 minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure that setup and preparation are completed on time.

Your individual quote will include, among other things:

  • Food truck and kitchen equipment
  • Chefs and serving staff inside the truck
  • Travel to and from the venue
  • Preparation and inventory planning
  • Setup and teardown
  • 2.5 hours of standard food service
  • All-you-can-eat main courses
  • Disposable tableware and cutlery
  • Napkins and sauces
  • Printed menus
  • Cleaning of the food truck
  • Waste disposal
  • Personal consultation

Additional costs only apply to services that go beyond standard food truck operations. These may include service staff outside the truck, reusable tableware, drinks, furniture, marquees, decorations, extended serving times, or additional food trucks.

What requirements are needed on-site?

For a standard event, we usually only require a few things:

  • A suitable and reasonably level parking space
  • An access route with sufficient width and height
  • A standard household 230-volt power outlet

Depending on the vehicle, you should plan for a footprint of approximately 7 × 3.5 meters. We will confirm the exact dimensions based on the specific food truck assigned. A water or sewage connection is not required for most events.

Before booking, please verify that the food truck can actually reach the intended location. If there are narrow entrances, low gates, soft ground, or steep inclines, photos and measurements will help us assess the site.

How much does it cost to hire food truck catering?

Costs depend primarily on the number of guests, the food package, travel distance, serving time, and any additional services.

During peak season, our main courses typically range from 19 to 40 euros net per person, depending on the menu and event size. For events with 30 to 120 guests, the price is generally between 25 and 40 euros net per person. As the number of guests increases, the price per person may decrease because fixed costs are spread across more people.

In addition, there is a travel and service fee per food truck. This is based on the total round trip from the nearest StreetQuizine location in Korschenbroich or Augsburg.

Private customers will receive a binding total price, including the applicable VAT, in their individual quote. You can find a detailed breakdown in our current food truck catering cost overview.

What additional services can be booked?

In addition to food truck catering, we can handle other aspects of your event. These include, for example:

  • Soft drink, beer, and wine packages
  • Aperitifs, long drinks, and mobile bars
  • Self-service beverage stations
  • Service staff outside the food trucks
  • Beer garden sets and other furniture
  • Pavilions and tents
  • Decoration and branding
  • Finger food and desserts
  • Coffee bikes, ice cream carts, and additional gourmet stations
  • Comprehensive event planning

We have our own event equipment and work with trusted partners for additional services. This allows us to provide a full-service concept with a single point of contact, depending on the event.

Where can StreetQuizine be booked?

StreetQuizine has locations in Korschenbroich and Augsburg. The closer location serves as the basis for calculating travel costs.

From Korschenbroich, we primarily serve North Rhine-Westphalia, the Rhineland, the Ruhr area, and surrounding regions. From Augsburg, we serve Bavaria and the southern German region. Depending on the date, distance, and event size, we provide food truck catering throughout Germany.

With multiple food trucks, we can also handle larger events or multiple locations simultaneously.

How does the catering work on the day of the event?

Our team usually arrives 60 to 90 minutes before the scheduled start of service. Upon arrival, the food truck is positioned, power is connected, and the kitchen is prepared for service.

During the agreed-upon time, our chefs prepare the dishes fresh and serve them directly to your guests. For larger events, we plan catering concepts, food trucks, and additional stations to ensure guests are distributed effectively.

Once service has ended, we handle the breakdown, clean the food truck, and dispose of any waste we have generated. The event venue will be left clean.

Checklist: What you should know before your inquiry

To ensure quick and effective planning, please try to answer the following questions:

  • When is the event taking place?
  • Where is the event location?
  • How many guests are expected?
  • Will all guests arrive at the same time or staggered?
  • How long should the food service last?
  • What kind of food is suitable for the event?
  • Are vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options required?
  • Is there sufficient space and a 230-volt power connection available?
  • Are drinks, furniture, or other equipment needed?
  • Is there a designated contact person on-site?

Any missing information can be provided during our consultation. For larger corporate events, it is especially recommended to define the schedule and service windows together at an early stage.

Frequently asked questions about renting a food truck for catering

Can I rent just the food truck without staff?

StreetQuizine generally provides food trucks as a full-service catering option, including chefs and service staff. This ensures that food quality, hygiene, and the event flow remain under the responsibility of our team.

What is the minimum number of guests for food truck catering?

Bookings are generally possible for 30 guests or more. Whether a booking is economically viable also depends on the menu, distance, and the date of the event.

How many guests can one food truck serve?

Depending on the dish, a single food truck can serve up to approximately 250 portions per hour. For larger events or very short service windows, we plan for multiple trucks or additional stations.

Does the food truck require high-voltage power or a water connection?

In most cases, a standard 230-volt power connection is sufficient. Water or sewage connections are generally not required. Any deviating requirements will be communicated prior to the event.

How far in advance should I book?

For popular Saturdays, we recommend inquiring at least three to six months in advance. Some dates may be fully booked up to a year ahead. Last-minute bookings are possible if a food truck and the appropriate team are still available.

What happens in case of bad weather?

The kitchen and serving area inside the food truck are fully protected. Depending on the weather, you should plan for pavilions, umbrellas, or other covered areas for your guests. We can provide suitable equipment upon request.
